Ingredients
Scale
Equipment
- Measuring spoon
- Mixing bowl (big enough for how much you want to make + mixing space)
- Decanting bowl (because if you overweigh one it doesn't end up ruining your mix, accidents happen)
- Whisk or fork to mix, based on quantity being done
- Funnel - it's easier to jar with one - I have been known to make one out of paper to do this.
- Jar
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Ground Ceylon Cinnamon
- 2.5 tsp Ground Powdered Ginger
- 2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1 tsp Ground Allspice
- 0.5 tsp Ground Clove Powder
- 0.25 tsp Ground Pepper
- 0.25 tsp Ground Anise
Instructions
- Clean and completely dry your storage jar. I like to sterilise mine.
- Using the smaller bowl, measure the spices one by one, pouring it to the bigger bowl when each one has been measured.
- Once everything has been measured and put to the bigger bowl, give it a gentle and thorough whisk to mix together properly.
- Grab your funnel and jar.
- Decant into the jar carefully, this stuff loves to make its way into the air and make you sneeze.
- Once complete, lid that mix until it’s ready to be used.
Notes
How to use: In places where a recipe often calls for cinnamon or a spice mix I’ll replace it in the quantity it may ask for with my mix
Example if a recipe calls for: 2 tsp cinnamon; 1 tsp ginger; 1/2 tsp nutmeg, I’ll just use 3.5 tsp of this in it’s place. In most recipes you can adjust fine.
